Gujarat MBBS and BDS Admission 2026-27: ACPUGMEC Registration Open Till 12 August

ACPUGMEC has opened online registration for first-year MBBS and BDS seats in Gujarat for 2026-27. PIN purchase closes 12 August at 12.00 noon, registration at 4.00 pm the same day, and help centre document verification on 13 August. The full schedule, the ₹11,000 payment explained, eligibility, and the deadlines students mix up.

ACPUGMEC has opened online registration for admission to first-year MBBS and BDS seats in Gujarat for the academic year 2026-27. PIN purchase and online registration both opened on 31 July 2026. The PIN counter closes on 12 August 2026 at 12.00 noon, online registration closes the same day at 4.00 pm, and document verification at a help centre runs from 3 August 2026 to 13 August 2026, 4.00 pm. Everything starts at www.medadmgujarat.org.

Three deadlines, three different cut-off times, and they do not all fall on the same day. That is where most of the avoidable damage happens every admission season. Here is the advertisement, decoded.

Who Runs This Admission

The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses, written everywhere as ACPUGMEC, is constituted under Section 4 of the Gujarat Professional Medical Education Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007. It works under the Government of Gujarat, and its office is at GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar.

ACPUGMEC conducts admission to first-year undergraduate Medical and Dental courses in the Government, Grant-in-aid and Self-financed colleges of Gujarat.

One line from the committee's own website deserves reading twice. The entire admission process for 100 per cent of the seats in every medical and dental undergraduate college in Gujarat, that is Government Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota alike, is conducted on merit, online, solely and exclusively by the Admission Committee. There is no seat in this system that anyone else can allot.

The Three Dates, Exactly As Notified

  • Online PIN purchase from the admission committee website: 31/07/2026 to 12/08/2026, 12.00 noon
  • Online registration: 31/07/2026 to 12/08/2026, 4.00 pm
  • Document verification and submission of photocopies at a help centre: 03/08/2026 to 13/08/2026, 4.00 pm

The Four-Hour Trap on 12 August

Read the first two rows together. The PIN counter shuts at 12.00 noon on 12 August. Registration stays open until 4.00 pm the same day.

Those four hours in between are not spare time to start in. You cannot buy a PIN during them, and without a PIN there is no registration to complete. If you have not bought your PIN by noon on 12 August, the 4.00 pm deadline is of no use to you at all.

What the ₹11,000 Is, and What Comes Back

The PIN is bought online at www.medadmgujarat.org. The payment is two separate things added together:

  • ₹1,000, non-refundable. This is the charge for the PIN itself.
  • ₹10,000, a refundable security deposit.
  • Total payable: ₹11,000, rupees eleven thousand only.

Only the ₹1,000 is gone for good. The ₹10,000 is a deposit that ACPUGMEC returns through separate refund rounds after the admission cycle, and those rounds run long: as of late July 2026 the committee was still processing Round 7 refunds of security deposits and tuition fees from the 2025-26 cycle. Treat it as money parked with the committee rather than money spent, and do not count on it coming back the same month.

The committee has also issued one plain instruction about the payment itself. Do the online PIN purchase on a good-speed connection, preferably broadband, to avoid a failed transaction. A payment that fails on the last morning is the most ordinary way there is to lose a seat you were eligible for.

Who Can Apply

Two conditions run in parallel, and you need both.

The qualifying examination. You must have passed Standard 12, Science Stream with B or AB Group, from either:

  • the Gujarat Board, or
  • a school situated in Gujarat State affiliated to the Central Board, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, Cambridge University, or the National Institute of Open Schooling.

Notice what that actually says. Sitting a CBSE, ISC, Cambridge or NIOS exam is not by itself enough. The school has to be situated in Gujarat.

NEET UG 2026. You must have qualified as per your All India Rank in NEET UG 2026, and be eligible under the Admission Rules of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat, and the respective commission or council.

The Marks You Actually Need

ACPUGMEC has published its eligibility criteria for 2026-27, and MBBS and BDS do not ask the same thing of your Standard 12 marksheet:

  • MBBS, Open and EWS: pass in PCB, theory plus practical, pass in English, NEET UG 2026 qualifying score 213
  • MBBS, PwD under Open or EWS: pass in PCB, pass in English, NEET UG 2026 qualifying score 194
  • MBBS, SC / ST / SEBC and Category-PwD: pass in PCB, pass in English, NEET UG 2026 qualifying score 177
  • BDS, Open and EWS: 50% in PCB, pass in English, NEET UG 2026 qualifying score 213
  • BDS, PwD under Open or EWS: 45% in PCB, pass in English, NEET UG 2026 qualifying score 194
  • BDS, SC / ST / SEBC and Category-PwD: 40% in PCB, pass in English, NEET UG 2026 qualifying score 177

MBBS asks only for a pass in PCB. BDS puts a percentage on it, and that percentage changes by category.

The 213, 194 and 177 are the NEET UG 2026 qualifying scores at the 50th, 45th and 40th percentile. Clearing one of them makes you eligible to register here. It does not by itself put you near a government MBBS seat, and you do not have to guess how far off you are: ACPUGMEC publishes institute-wise last ranks from previous years on the same website.

Document Verification: You Book It Yourself

After the online registration you do not simply walk into a help centre. The advertisement is specific about the sequence:

  1. 1Take a prior appointment for document verification and submission of self-attested photocopies of documents.
  2. 2Select your own date and your own help centre, at the time of printing the registration slip.
  3. 3Turn up at that centre on that date with the documents.

So the appointment is not allotted to you later and it is not requested by email. You pick it yourself, inside the registration flow, at the moment you print the slip. Close that screen without reading it and you have still chosen a date and a centre, just not deliberately.

The list of help centres is published on www.medadmgujarat.org, along with the list of documents required for the ACPUGMEC admission process, the authority letter format for original document verification, and the medical fitness certificate format.

Help Centre Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
  • Saturday: 10.00 am to 12.00 pm
  • Sunday and public holidays: closed

Now hold those hours against the verification window of 3 to 13 August 2026. Sunday 9 August is a closed day. Saturday 8 August is a half day that ends at noon. Any public holiday in that stretch is closed too. Eleven calendar days is, in working terms, meaningfully fewer, and the last one, 13 August, ends at 4.00 pm.

Local Quota: NHL Ahmedabad and SMIMER Surat

Two municipal colleges have local quota seats that need a step ACPUGMEC cannot take for you:

  • Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad
  • Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research, SMIMER, Surat

To be considered for those local quota seats, in addition to the online registration you must obtain a certificate stating that you are a local student of Ahmedabad city or Surat city, as applicable, from the Dean of that institute. The advertisement says plainly that for this the candidate has to contact the respective college. The committee does not issue this certificate and will not chase it on your behalf.

NRI Candidates: One Extra Payment, Delivered in Person

NRI candidates have a step that is easy to miss precisely because it is not online. After the online application, an NRI candidate has to submit a demand draft as a processing fee:

  • Amount: ₹10,000
  • In favour of: "ACPUGMEC"
  • Payable at: Gandhinagar
  • Submitted at: the office of ACPUGMEC, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar, and only there

Keep these two apart in your head. This ₹10,000 processing fee is not the ₹10,000 refundable security deposit inside the PIN payment. Same figure, different purpose, and only one of them comes back.

Where OCI Card Holders Stand

Following the Supreme Court judgment dated 3 February 2023 in Writ Petition (C) No. 891 of 2021, OCI card holders are eligible for NRI Quota, Management Quota and Government Quota from the academic year 2023-24 onwards.

Gujarat adds its own condition on top for the two non-NRI quotas. For admission under Government Quota and Management Quota, the committee states that the candidate must have passed Standard 10 and Standard 12 from schools situated in Gujarat as per the admission rules, and must either have been born in Gujarat or hold a Gujarat domicile.

PwD Candidates Have a Second Appearance

Students applying under the disability category have to appear for verification with their disability certificate before the Medical Board at a Civil Hospital. ACPUGMEC publishes the list of designated civil hospitals on its website, together with the Government of Gujarat Health and Family Welfare Department resolution on disability, letter no. HFWD/0133/07/2024 dated 09/07/2024, the disability proforma, and the 2026 guidelines on assessment of persons with benchmark disabilities for admission to the MBBS course.

That medical board appearance is separate from the help centre document verification. Plan for both, not one.

This Schedule Does Not Cover BAMS and BHMS

Worth stating clearly, because families comparing options often assume one registration covers everything. This advertisement is for Medical and Dental, meaning MBBS and BDS.

Registration for BAMS and BHMS admission is conducted separately, as per the schedule notified by NCISM, NCH and the AYUSH Counselling Committee, New Delhi. Different authority, different calendar, and nothing in the 12 August deadline applies to it.

Where to Get Help

  • Website: www.medadmgujarat.org, where the advertisement, the registration instructions, the process of online admission, the documents list and the help centre list are all published
  • In person: for any guidance about registration or the further admission process, the committee directs candidates to visit a help centre
  • Committee office: ACPUGMEC, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar

The advertisement closes by asking candidates to visit the website frequently for updated information. That is not filler. Counselling round dates, seat matrices and fee lists are published there through the cycle, and a schedule change is announced on the portal before it reaches any news site.

Common Questions About ACPUGMEC Registration 2026-27

12 August 2026, 4.00 pm, for the online registration. The PIN purchase closes earlier on the same day, at 12.00 noon.

How much does the ACPUGMEC PIN cost?

₹11,000 in total: ₹1,000 as a non-refundable charge and ₹10,000 as a refundable security deposit.

Only if the school was situated in Gujarat. The qualifying examination has to be Standard 12 Science with B or AB Group, passed from the Gujarat Board or from a school situated in Gujarat State affiliated to the Central Board, CISCE, Cambridge University or NIOS.

Do I choose my own document verification centre?

Yes. Candidates select the date and the help centre themselves at the time of printing the registration slip, and a prior appointment is compulsory before turning up.

What are the ACPUGMEC help centre timings?

What NEET 2026 score do I need for Gujarat MBBS?

213 for Open and EWS, 194 for PwD under Open or EWS, and 177 for SC, ST, SEBC and Category-PwD candidates. The same three scores apply to BDS, which additionally asks for 50%, 45% and 40% in PCB respectively.

Does this registration cover BAMS and BHMS?

No. BAMS and BHMS registration is conducted separately as per the NCISM, NCH and AYUSH Counselling Committee schedule.

Can a management quota seat be arranged directly with a college?

No. ACPUGMEC states that 100 per cent of the seats in Gujarat's medical and dental undergraduate colleges, Management Quota and NRI Quota included, are filled on merit through the committee's online process alone.

Where Gyan Sanchaar Fits In

PIN purchase, registration, document verification, merit lists and seat allotment are run entirely by ACPUGMEC, Government of Gujarat. Gyan Sanchaar has no role in that process and cannot register, verify or influence an application for you.

The committee's own statement is the one worth carrying into every conversation this month. Every seat in every medical and dental undergraduate college in Gujarat, government quota, management quota and NRI quota alike, is allotted on merit through the ACPUGMEC online process. If someone offers you a confirmed Gujarat MBBS or BDS seat for a fee, they are selling something this system does not contain.

What Gyan Sanchaar can help with, while your ACPUGMEC registration is in process: if you are keeping a second option open, you can browse colleges verified against UGC, NAAC and AICTE or NMC records, compare fees and courses state by state, and apply directly from your dashboard, free, with no agents and no application fee. BSc Nursing and allied health courses at many private colleges admit directly against your NEET UG 2026 score, outside the MBBS and BDS counselling system entirely.

Filling one form here does not put your phone number on a list sold to fifty colleges. Only the colleges you choose see your details, and a counsellor from that college gets in touch, not a call centre. Keeping a second door open costs you nothing while you wait for the ACPUGMEC merit list.
