About Global Group of Institutes
Global Group of Institutes started in 2008 with a clear purpose — build an institution in the region that could genuinely prepare students for what the professional world actually demands.
It was founded by Dr. B S Chandi and Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi. What they built over the years isn't just bigger in size — it's more serious in intent.
Where we stand today
The campus in Amritsar spans 25 acres. Eco-friendly, well-maintained, and built to support serious academic work.
Programs run across Engineering, Law, Management, Pharmacy, Paramedical, and Computer Applications — at diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.
All programs carry the required approvals:
- AICTE — All India Council for Technical Education
- BCI — Bar Council of India
- PCI — Pharmacy Council of India
- Punjab Government approval
Affiliations are with IKG-Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and PSBTE & IT Chandigarh.
The institution holds NAAC A+ Accreditation — the actual benchmark that matters in Indian higher education.
What's under the umbrella
Following AICTE directives (2019–20), four institutions now operate as one:
- 1Global Institute of Management & Emerging Technologies (est. 2008) — B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA
- 2Global Institute of Management (est. 2008) — MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Com (Hons)
- 3Global Polytechnic College (est. 2013) — ME, CE, EE, CSE
- 4Global Institute of Pharmacy (est. 2018) — Pharmacy programs
The people running it
Faculty and academic leadership here have worked at ISRO, IIT, and NIT. That background directly shapes how programs are structured and what standards are expected — from the classroom upward.
What drives it
The governing body is Guru Har Rai Educational Society, a registered society based in Amritsar.
The guiding principle is Sarbat Da Bhala — welfare for all. In practice, that means keeping education affordable, keeping access broad, and not building something that only serves students who already have every advantage.
The aim is simple: a student who comes out of here should be able to compete — anywhere in India, and beyond. That takes technical preparation, yes. It also takes the kind of thinking and grounding that holds up in real work environments, under real pressure.
Research runs across engineering, science, and management. And entrepreneurship — consistent with what Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam advocated throughout his life — is treated as a real outcome here, not an afterthought.
