About Assam CEE

Assam CEE 2026 is conducted by Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) for admission to engineering, architecture, and pharmacy programmes at ASTU-affiliated government engineering colleges: Assam Engineering College (AEC) Guwahati, Jorhat Engineering College, Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (Kokrajhar), Lakhimpur Engineering College, and other government colleges in Assam. Assam CEE is the primary route to government-subsidised engineering education within Assam.

Assam Engineering College (AEC) Guwahati — established 1955 — is the oldest and most prestigious engineering college accessible via Assam CEE, with strong campus recruitment from IT, oil sector (OIL India, ONGC Assam), and civil infrastructure companies. For students from Assam and NE states, Assam CEE offers access to affordable, government-funded engineering education at home, avoiding the significant migration cost of studying in Bengaluru, Pune, or other cities. JEE Main scores are used separately for NIT Silchar and the seven NE NITs.

Eligibility

  • Class 12 from Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or equivalent boards
  • PCM for engineering and architecture; PCB for pharmacy
  • Minimum 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics individually and in aggregate
  • Students from neighbouring NE states with valid residential/domicile certificates of Assam may be eligible — verify current ASTU notification
  • No age limit beyond standard Class 12 completion
