NEET UG 2026 Mizoram State Quota and ZMC NRI Quota: How to Apply

NTA declared the NEET UG 2026 result on 16 July 2026. A day later, on 17 July, Mizoram's Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (Technical Wing) put out two public notices telling students exactly what to do next. If you sat for NEET UG 2026 and want a state quota seat in Mizoram, or an NRI quota MBBS seat at Zoram Medical College, both windows are open right now, and both have a hard cut-off.

This is a straight explanation of what the two notices actually say, taken directly from the office copies, no guesswork added.

State Quota: MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and BVSc & AH

Memo No. A.45013/1/2025-JDT(HTE), signed by Er. K. Zodingliana, Joint Director (Tech) and Member Secretary of the State Selection Board Committee, covers every Mizoram state quota seat that NEET feeds into: MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and B.V.Sc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry).

If you want to be considered for any of these under state quota, here is what the notice asks for:

1. 1Collect the ready-made Report Form from the Technical Wing Office, Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Chaltlang Lily Veng, Aizawl.
2. 2Pay the form fee: ₹10 per form.
3. 3Submit your NEET UG 2026 scorecard along with the filled form, at the same office.
4. 4Do this between 20 and 28 July 2026, before 3:00 PM on the closing date.

Two provisional merit lists follow: the first on 24 July 2026, while submissions are still open, and the second on 28 July 2026. Watch both. A provisional list is exactly that, provisional, so check your name and rank on each one rather than assuming the first list is final.

What "State Quota" Actually Means

State quota seats are reserved for Mizoram domicile candidates and allotted by the state's own Selection Board Committee, separately from the 15% All India Quota that the central Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) handles. Nobody outside this office decides who gets a state quota seat. Not a college, not an agent, not a platform. You submit your scorecard and form directly to the Technical Wing Office, the Committee prepares the merit list, and seats go out strictly by that list. If anyone offers to get you a state quota seat through some other route, that offer is false.

NRI Quota: MBBS at Zoram Medical College

A separate notice, Memo No. A.46015/2/2023-JDT(HTE), covers only one thing: Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota MBBS seats at Zoram Medical College (ZMC), Mizoram's medical college.

This is a different process from the state quota one above, with its own form and its own fee:

1. 1Collect the readymade Application Form from the same Technical Wing Office, Chaltlang Lily Veng, Aizawl.
2. 2Pay the form fee: ₹20 per form.
3. 3Submit the completed application within the window.
4. 4Submission runs from 20 July to 7 August 2026, before 3:00 PM on the closing date, longer than the state quota window.

If you are applying under NRI quota, collect and submit this form separately. It is not the same Report Form used for state quota, and mixing the two up will only cost you time you do not have.

If your question is not answered here, or you are unsure which quota applies to you, call or email that office directly rather than guessing. They issued the notice, so they are the ones with the final word on your specific case.

A Word of Caution

Every year, some families around NEET counselling season get approached by someone promising a state quota or NRI quota seat outside the official list, for a price. Both notices above are the entire process. There is no side entrance. A Report Form, a fee of ₹10 or ₹20, your scorecard, and the Technical Wing Office are all it takes to be considered. Anyone asking for more than that, outside that office, is not helping you.
